We have a huge variety of music-making groups at MMC, and you can attend as many groups as you wish to for an inclusive termly fee of just £30! We hope there will be something that appeals to you, but if not please ask, as it may be possible to start new groups if there is sufficient interest.

A wide range of groups offering a fun introduction to making music!
Music for Minis
Age 0–4 11:15-11:45
A small friendly group using singing, movement, stories and puppets. Based on Kodaly and Dalcroze techniques. Great fun and accessible to all.
Music for Minors
Age 4-6 11:30-12:15
Basic introduction to music through singing, games, movement and instrumental work.
Music for Majors
Age 6-8 10:15-11.00
Developing further the basic knowledge of music in a structured environment
Both of these classes are taken by an experienced teacher of young children trained in the Kodaly Method, a system of music education that originated in Hungary.
Recorder - Absolute Beginners

For those learning to play the recorder for the first time.
Recorder - The Next Step
9:30-10:00
Taking students up to Grade 1 standard.
Recorder - Grade 2 Onwards
10:30-11:00
Taking students up to Grade 2 standard.
Drum & Percussion Group
09:30-10:00
Total beginners can learn basic rhythmic skills while the more experienced can play sophisticated parts so that the group works as a team.
Junior Choir Ages 6+
11:15-12:00
For many children this is the first chance they will have to benefit from professional vocal training. Good technique, including diction and breathing, is taught informally within the songs. The repertoire covers popular and traditional songs from many different cultures in both unison and parts.
